Sandstorm

This project started with a cinematic vision for a limited edition "Sandstorm" driver that felt as bold and unique as the product itself. I pitched the concept internally, aiming to create something that felt like a high-speed escape through the desert—raw, dramatic, and visually powerful.

From there, I built out the creative: designing shot ideas, building a loose narrative structure, and using AI tools to generate a set of storyboards that helped everyone visualize what we were chasing. It was a crucial step in getting alignment across teams and setting the tone for the production. With a tight window and an even tighter crew, we packed up gear and headed out to the middle of nowhere.

We faced crazy wind, shifting light, and the usual challenges of remote shooting, but that’s where the fun lives. I directed on location while also helping manage the logistics on the ground. Every moment of prep, from visual development to gear planning and scheduling, was essential in making it all run smoothly with a lean team.

Being able to take this idea from pitch to execution, wearing multiple hats along the way, was one of the most gratifying experiences I’ve had in a while. Massive thanks to the talented crew that brought this vision to life. Everyone gave it their all, and it shows.

Play big - donny sands

It's impossible not to root for Donny Sands. At 26, his life has already encountered more ups and downs than a Six Flags theme park. From the sudden passing of his father in 2012 (who he was extremely close with), to living out of his car in high school, to being drafted by the freakin’ Yankees, and then years of grinding it out in the minors, his story is defined by an unwavering self-belief and will to succeed. But if you ask him...he's just getting started.

Compassing

Once upon a time…I spent an entire summer working on this film. The van in the film was both my home, office and transport. It was just Cyrus Sutton and myself who traveled over 3,000 miles to document our adventure. We had 17 cameras including a Red Scarlet, Various DSLRs and a dozen go pros. Keeping all those cameras in addition to computer gear organized and charged in a van full of surf gear and our "housing" accommodations was no easy task but we pulled it off. Hope you enjoy!

A short film in search of freedom.
